Missing five-week-old baby found

WA Police have found a five-week-old baby that they believed was with its teenage father.

On Thursday they issued an urgent alert seeking assistance in locating the father who hadn’t been seen since midday in Mandurah.

“Concerns are held for the welfare of the five-week-old baby and it is extremely important that police find [them] as soon as possible,” they said.

WA Police inspector Geoff DeSanges issued an emotional plea for the baby’s safe return.

“Father to father, we know you want the best for your baby,” he said.

“Please come in and talk to us so we can help you and sort this out.”

An hour later police said the baby had been found safe and well.
